Ok, first off, you have to pick a different idol than the Jonas Bros., because they don't represent a successful music career, they don't write their own material(I DON'T CARE what ANY FANS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS, THIS IS ALL TRUE FACT), and they are being used by Disney for publicity, and to attract more viewers to their station, and it works.

Second of all, you need to study music theory. Take lessons for a particular instrument you had in mind: guitar, drums, vocals, bass, etc. The music is only as good as the musician makes it, so study your theory hard, and be as creative as possible, and remember: Music theory is a set of rules, and you need to KNOW the rules before you can BREAK them. So once you know enough, you can start thinking outside of the box.

Third and last of all, you need to have a record deal with a record company, and you typically need to be older than 18(TYPICALLY, not always, because contracts are only enforced by law when the signer is over 18, most record dealers wouldn't want to run the risk of you breaking the deal, but some exceptions, like if your parents sign FOR u, or if you are being endorsed by a big company, like the Jonas Bros.)

Good luck, and let your heart and your emotions lead your voice whenever you are at a loss for a note.

Zach
