Should I talk to my missing sister who just showed up?

Our sister disappeared almost 11 years without a word to anyone in our family. She was the youngest in a big family, but an adult at the time. We assumed the worst drugs, death, etc. She appeared out of nowhere recently to speak to one family member and it turns out she’s been living a wonderful life and is very successful. She said she disappeared because we were all belittling and gossiping about her and she just couldn’t take it anymore. I kind of want to talk to her now, but at the same time I’m kind of upset. What should I do?

Answer #1

Love her - a sister has come home - be happy for her in her positive accomplishments…Merry Christmas to all of you !!

Answer #2

Yes, talk to her. Maybe she was hurting also when she left. Be glad she is alive and welcome her w/open arms. She is family!

Answer #3

What she did to you was horrible, terrible, pathetic, but…not unforgivable. It’s kind of like the prodigal son returning. Tell her you are hurt, but you love her and miss her. But be careful, other family members may feel it is a betrayal to them if you become close to her. Feel things out and do whats best for you.

Answer #4

Please talk and share how you both have been feeling , we all have different levels of coping when in despair – Open your arms to your sister

Answer #5

that is a really tough situation, and I don’t blame you for being mad at her, I would be too. maybe you could take it in baby steps, first make sure your positive you would be okay talking to her. then tell her how you feel, talk it out, tell her thats your sad and everything else your feeling. after all she is family and she probably cares how you feel. I really hope I could help. good luck.

Answer #6

yes you should talk to her cause you only have one chance to talk to her and she may go missing again so as long as she is around make the most of it.

Answer #7

Talk to her.Let the past pasy away.Since it’s already past away.So start a new life now.^^
