Is it normal to act older than your age?

Is it normal for a 13 year old to be acting more mature than a 20 year old without even trying to be older?

It's normal for teenage girls to want to think of themselves as mature. The truth is, they're just being uptight. They also tend to take themselves WAY too seriously. The average twenty-year-old usually knows when to take things seriously and to have fun - which is what being mature is all about. Believe it or not, most people don't get dumber as they age. We know exactly what we're doing - you just don't understand why yet.

People who don't think of themselves as mature are usually the real mature ones. Just a hint.

Everyone's makeup is different, so in some, that's normal - not necessarily a bad thing...Take care !!

i think that it is normal for children that have had neglectful parents, childhood traumas such as molestation and physical abuse to naturally adapt to their environments which forces them to become self-reliant(mature). if there is anything that you want to talk about, i'm here for you...i promise i wont judge you. if you chose not to share with me, please find some1 that u can TRUST. i promise it will make a difference in your life. seek out and find that 1 person, even if you have to keep your real identity a secret. best wishes.

It depends I am seventeen years old but most people who do not know that think I am like 20 or 21 just because I act a lot older in a good way too I am more independent and knowledgeable then most people my age I had to grow up a lot faster then most kids though..for reasons such as Chasity mentioned.. xiigzag I think is being a little rude with the uptight teenager thing but what ever their choice in words I don't think a mature teenager is uptight for not being lose per say as most are these days it really depends on the person and their environment as well as who they are.

I don't try to act older and I have since I was 10 or so I am told I never really noticed and so yes it can be normal but the living condition I was living in called for it and I pray that that not be the situation with you.

most people act older than thier age

it all depends on the person i thinki am the bigges goof off ever i always get kicked outa class but then there is a chrisis i always keep my cool and get us out of it. then people are like wow i thought you were just some dumb 15 yr old you are actually cool. it just depends on what situwation you are in i think
