Why do i feel like i'm older?

I have this really odd problem. I always feel like I'm way older than I am. I'm only 19...but...I always feel more like 37. That's not old mind you...but it's older than I am by quite a bit. I'll wear a skirt or something and be like 'I'm too old for...

this' or I'll buy clothes or music when I go shopping and feel like I'm too old for it..when mass media and corporations aim the products at people my age. Most of my friends are older than me because I can't hang around people my age. I always feel like I'm parenting them or something. Does anyone know a way to fix this or at least share the same problem?

Most of my friends are 10-20 years older than me. I enjoy going out partying with them and everything. We all get along really well.

When going out with younger ones, they act like 'big men' and are obnoxious fools! It’s like I parent them to! I growl at them occasionally and say 'Hey show a little respect' and bring em back in line if they get out of hand and I am sick of it.

I feel way older but that could because I have been working with people 10-20 years older than me for about 6 years and I have adapted. With the young ones, you have to be 'cool' and in with it. Not saying I am not cool  or anything but I ain't no sheep, I am the herder! Oh and I am 23.

actually...the whole ...where in the line of siblings thing is odd..I'm the middle child of my moms kids and the oldest by 16 years of my dads..maybe that's my problem...

I think I go through the same things, but Its only because you were not brought up to act so childish, so look at people that are your age and see the way they act, and think that they need to grow up. And I think that if your the oldest you do have more responsibility, because you have to watch after you younger siblings.

I feel the same way. it just means your mnd is more mature. it's a good thing. just hang around older friends, it should make you feel a bit more normal, plua you're more likely to fit in
