Mars as big as the moon

my dad said that yesterday at night at 12:30 mars appeared and that it looked as big as the moon andthat it gave of more light than the moon. is that true

No! Mars is way too far out when its at its closes it is still too far it takes a week to get to the moon and it takes 6 months for mars and that is only when mars is closest to earth witch only happens once every year or two. So there's no way that your dad saw Mars that big.

No, it is absolutely not true. It was a bizarre internet rumor that appeared out of nowhere, and hopefully will go right back there.
