How can I ask my Mom to wear makeup?

I’m 14, and I want to use make up but I don’t know how to ask my mom, since I have very poor communication skills :[ Plus, I have to ask her in Spanish because she doesn’t know English and even though I’m fluent in Spanish, I stutter a lot when speaking it. So how should I ask?

Answer #2

Okay, my Spanish is terrible and is limited to mostly potty humor and swear words, but let me give this a shot. “Mi neccessito’ el Sancho para mi casa. Empeanate’ mama cita.” Hmm… I really am bad at spanish, huh? If your mom is Catholic then just go ahead and get the make-up and some good remover so you can put it on after you leave her and take it off before you get home. If you are on a closer relationship level with your mom then just tell her your reasons for wanting make-up and try to be honest and forthwith.

Answer #3

Keep it simple, one step at a time.

The next time you are in a grocery store with your mom, tell her your lips hurt and ask if you can go get some lip balm. Then pick out a lip balm that is tinted pink or glittery or whatever and ask her if you can have it.

Baby steps, darlin. You are a bit young–you don’t want to get into too much make up, but starting with a light lip gloss is the least offensive out of the gate. Then build from there. Try a little blush and then mascara down the road. Then leave it at that!
