Lottery Scams

Why is it that people think they can get by w/ acting like someone won the lottery by sending out these massive emails to get people’s personal information and all they are doing is scamming you to get your identity and/or money?

Has this happened to anyone here?

Answer #1

Sure, I think probably almost all here have recieved those - they are scams looking for ‘vulnerable victims’ - must be VERY careful what we respond to and what information we give anyone online (intent unknown)…Take care !!

Answer #2

Don’t email them back… just delete. If you email them back, it tells them they got a valid email address and you just end up getting more. It is a pain, though. I’ve had to abandon many of my email accounts because they’re getting so much junk.

Answer #3

I mark them as scam and email me them back a nasty little note to not respond to me and once I thought it would be nice to act like I was playing their little game as well.

Some people are just too lazy to get out and work for their own money and support themselves that they have to mooch off of others… sheesh.. all this crap makes my blood boil when I think about it.

btw, thanks for comments… :)

Credulity is not the opposite of faith, but of awareness : be aware!
