I really want to get my lip pierced. I either want a ring on just one side or snake bites. I'm 14 and I already gauged my ears with 14G barbells and I'm planning on going to a 12 and then 10 etc but my mom doesn't approve of this and she doesn't even know I gauged my ears but I know she will make me take them out. How do I convince my mom to let me get my lip pierced if she doesn't even let me gauge my ears? Also if I want to get it done anyway without her consent do I need a parent there with me? and if I do, can it just be an adult and not my parent?
Okay, first off gauges and piercings are defffinately NOT gross. I have my ears gauged at a size 4 and im not done gauging them. and to be honest piercings hurt LESS then gauges so I don't know what that person is talking about because I pierced my ears myself with a needle and it still hurt less than gauges.
Anywhoo I'm a 13 year old girl and I do bad things behind my parents back, I gauged my ears and my parents dont know and I have my nose pierced also. a lip ring may be difficult to hide unless you know how to properly hide it like getting the clear piercings to wear around your parents are deff less noticable. But eventually they will find out so keep that in mind.
Also, I went to get my bellybutton pierced with someone over 18 and they still wouldnt let me because he was not my parent, so you may need to either wait till your older or convince your parents. If either options are too difficult then find a friend who is a pro piercer and willing to do it without your parents consent. That's basically what I did because my best friend who is 19 works as a proffesional piercer who does my piercings for me. It's also 10 times safer that way, and less painful.

I have the exact same problem. I REEEAAALLLYYY want to get snake bites, (and my nose pierced), but every time i beg my mom for it, she says,"I don't want MY daughter full of holes!" Yeah, I know, it's stupid. But what you can do is starting to try to be really nice to my mom, I'm doing most of the chores, and trying to get good grades. Or, you can do the best choice, which i am going to do. you can go to walmart, and in the earring and jewelry section, you go to the counter where they have ear piercing, and you can actually buy an ear piercing gun. ( you know, the one they use when they pierce your ears.) It comes with a set of earrings, (u can get studs, or any type of earring that you want) It's like 20$. BUT, i don't know if you have to have parent permission or not. I doubt it though, since they aren't responsible for what happensto you if you get one and do it yourself. It DOES come with instructions on how to do it, and where to put the earring, Etc. BEWARE: IF YOU BUY THE GUN THING, DO NOT LET YOUR MOM OR DAD SEE IT OR SEE YOU BUY IT. NOT ONLY WILL THEY TAKE IT AWAY FROM YOU AND PROBABLY GROUND YOU, YOUMIGHT NEVER BE ABLE TO GET ANOTHER PIERCING AGAIN.
what happened with me was I wanted my nose pierced and my mother, like yours, did not approve of it one bit and did not even consider the way I felt about the whole deal. So, i did it myself and majorly made her mad. But I didn't take it out because I went through the pain to do it and bought nose studs and everything so I wasnt gonna take it out. If you want it done professionally, someone has to sign a permission form. For example, you could easily say that your boyfriend was your older brother that you live with because your parents died and put down his address and phone number and everything if he's old enough to pass as something like that. If she tries to make you take it out, thats too bad. Because if you get it done, its your responsibility to keep it clean and not looking all nasty and crap. The worst she could do would be rip it out of your lip, but I dont know any decent parent who will inflict pain on their child for something as dumb as ripping your lip ring out. Get it done and if she throws a fit, tell her "Its my body and its what I like. Why don't you just learn to love me for who I am and not what you want me to be?"

okay so I really wanted my lip pierced, all places here in va make you have a parent unless your 18 so I got a friend my age to do it with a thick safety pin. 1 clean it with peroxide and burn it with fire to completely kill every germ 2 make sure you know where you want it im not gonna go into great detail ima just tell you how to get away with it
I did mine 3 weeks ago my mom has no idea. I pierced it and put a regular ear ring in it ( I recommend gettin a real lip ring) get the straight rigs not the curved ones. you can leave it out for about 45 minutes without it closing so when your around your parents take it out when your at school or sleeping or in your room put it in. your lip will be swollen for a few days or so so if she asks say you got elbowed in pe or some stupid s*** like that lol, now mine has healed my parents dont know and im happy with it! good luck any questions? email me blackandpink_12@hotmail.com
First of all, I know the urge for a piercing may be very intense (don't worry, I get them all the time), but it is not worth it to go out and look for someone who can take you when you don't have your parents permission. When I got my bridge pierced, I did have my mom's permission, but not my dad's... When he found out, well, let's just say I never thought he'd react like he did. But, you're best off to wait until the legal age in your area to go and get one yourself. If you really want your mom's permission, try convincing her; show her positive pictures and stories on BMEzine.com, or have her give you incentive, with grades and all that. Manage high grades, get a piercing, it could work!
Don't do it yourself though. I have multiple self-done piercings, one of which got very infected, and ripped a part of my ear where I now have a permanent scar.

Your so stupid. DONT DO IT YOUR SELF! I have 17 piercings and more on the way 8 I did myself and 6 were mistakes that turned out horrible dont believe what you have heard I work in a piercing parlor if you just now have a 14G, you really need to hurry up. I gauged (stretched) my ears from a 18-normal piercing to a 00G in a year. Change them every month I know everything there pretty much is to know about them and piercings, w/e just wait a lil. make your mom know how much you like them dont push her you have to convince her to let you get them or you shouldnt get them I went through all this its not worth the time make your chores and school work show off. be good suck up need more info? talk to me.
Almost all piercers have to have some kind of consent form filled out for minors that logs the adults name and drivers license number BECAUSE of these type of situations. That way if a child gets a piercing or tattoo done without a parent's consent they can track the person that was present with you.
In some states it is illegal without PARENT consent. And the parent can press charges/fines against the piercing/tattoo parlor and the person who consented.
Your parents are responsible for you and your actions. So you should wait until you are 18.
I used to pierce ears at a mall and I used to HATE filling out the consent forms. because thats when people would freak out because of what is in the fine print.
It depends on what your parents are like; if they're super stict, or really observant, than I suggest that you wait until you're old enough to do it on your own. Conversly, if your parents aren't that observant, or you don't think that they will pay attention to your lip, then try to find someone that will go with you or do it for you. Just one piece of advice: DO NOT try to pierce your own lip!!! I understand with piercing you ears with a pin, but if you do that to your lip, and it gets infected from the pin or something, then you could get poisoning and get really sick.

It depends where you go. The place I went to get my belly button pierced didn't have an age limit. Well, they did. You were suppose to be over the age of 14, But my cousin wasn't.. They don't really care. But anyways. As I was saying, You don't need your parents to be there to get your lip done. When I got my bellybutton done, my cousin signed the paper.. They didn't care.. and no, it wasn't a dirty place.
And if you do get it done, your mom's obviously going to see. What if she makes you take them out? Then you've just spent $60+ on getting random hole(s) in your lip.

When the last time you saw anyone with a decent job with a lip ring. Either they don't get hired or are too unqualified. When is the last time you saw a successful entrepreneur with a lip ring? Total misdirection of effort. Put your time into something constructive , not mutilating your body.
as a matter of fact, I waited until I was 18 until I've done any extreme- ish things to my appearance, and you know what?-it worked out better because even though my mom might not agree with it, she is able to respect the fact that I am an adult, I've made the choice, and that I have the right to do something I enjoy and that im not harming myself. I think its helped her to appreciate thats its something I want to do, and feel is a part of my personality, rather than just a kid trying to copy what I think is cool.
Don't you hate it when all these people tell you to just listen to your mother? SHE IS ASKING WHERE SHE CAN GET IT DONE, NOT IF SHE SHOULD LISTEN TO HER MOTHER. jesus christ. I personally did my own snakebites back when I was 12. And they turned out beautiful, however you need some kind of expierence. And 12 was a young age. If you know anyone who gets piercings at some place, you can ask them if they'd do it for you, you still need some type of permission unless you're close with the dude.
doent ask her. a couple of monthes ago I peirced my lip by myself with one of thoes fat safty pins and my mom learned to deal with it after it heals enough to take out just take it aut around her. P.S. people say its going to get all infected and stuff but if you take care of it, it will be fine myn is A ok just use lots of proxide (not rubbing alcahole it burns like h***) and a 14 G is about the size of fat safty pin

There's no way you can hide it. 1. You need to be at least 18 to get one without your parent to sign the form they give you. 2. If you get one, you cannot remove the piercing they put you for like about a month so, she'll be able to notice it. 3. If you decide to remove the piercing so that your mom won't see it, your lip will look nasty and she'll be able notice as well. So I suggest you either wait until your 18 or make a fake one.
sheesh just listen to ur mom..shes right..its better to have permission than to sneek around..and almost every place that does peircings u have to be 18 without a parent to sign ..i got my nose peirced when i turned 15 and my mom didnt like the idea she still doesnt like that i want to get two more sets on my ears..but try to explain some stuff to her..and in my opinion gauging ur ears is like so gross wat is cool about that?
nah u dont need your parents there it just has to be some1 18 so if u no any1 old enough hav them bring u.. and if the piercing place dont need parent advisory then that place is too sketchy in the first place and u shouldnt mess with them. and one more thing if ure ma dont want u gettin it dun wat u think she gona say wen she sees it. if she makes u take it out it'll be all that $ and all stress n pain of it 4 nuthin.
I live in the UK where you need to be 16 but im only 15.. if you look old enought they won't ask for consent. My mum hates piercings as well, but I have small plugs, my hips pierced, my belly pierced, my cartilage pierced twice and the inside part of my ear pierced and she doesn't no haha..
I dunno if you'll be able to hide a lip piercin but if you manage it let me no how because I want to get ma toungue done :)
I had the same problem, I had my gauges down to a 2 when she finally noticed and she HATED THEM, so I made a deal with her that I would take out my gauges if she let me get my monroe pierced.. she agreed and what she doesnt know is I started gauging out my ears again haha soo I win =]...try that before going behind your moms back and doing it yourself or something stupid like that.
call your local percier, but any money its age 16 you can do it on your on. anything less. but hun dont get snake bites, there so dirty and ugly. and what if they get infected. I know your young but pericings are slowing comin outta style, I shouldnt say much becasue I have my eye brow and tounge. but yeh just wait honastly. or just ask your mom see what she says
Hey stupid teenager, you can't get one til your 18 and sometimes those lip rings, cause gangreen. Do you know what that it, it's when your skin rots off. EWWW, why would you want that to happen. Way to risky. You need to clean up your act, by the way if God wanted you to put holes in your lips he would of put them there. It's not natural and indecent.
you can go to a store and but clear plugs for you are lip an just dont wear the ball around your mom!!! an as far as getting your lip done at a tattoo place all you have tto do is get the paper work an have some one sign your moms name and bring it back an get your liop done!!! I gauged my ears an now I can put a pencil through them!!! its fun!!!
I dont knoe im trying to let my mom get it pieced fcr me but she wont let me so I justpieced it by my selh and no it did not hurt but I had to take it out for school so it closed but evey one say it was cool and loed it on me but im tring real hard to get my mom to go get it done for me(but she wont because she dont love me lol j/p)
listen to your mother she's older and wiser and there's a reason who have to wait till your 18 to make a decsion by yourself because you can reason it all right now so maybe just listen to what your mom has to say because she's saying it for a reason and not for her own good because she likes to hear her voice...just give her a chance.
well hun, if she doesnt let you gauge your ears, you could never get away with a lip peircing. my mum lets me gauge my ears. but I did my lip behind her back. my friend did it for me. and she just let it go. but I asked for my nose and she dont mind.
it depends on the kind of parents you have.
appreciate your parents and listen to them. they did a lot for you so the least you can do is do as they say. you should make your parents proud of having a kid that actually respects them...so just listen to your parents..they're the only ones who are always going to love you no matter what.
just do it by urself then sleep eith it in and take it out when she comes around keep it in 4 as long as possible an dout 4 as short as possible...I did it friday nite and its still pierrcedd...and im not 14...I duznt hurt or bleed
I went to my friend , her cousin is a profesinal. now of course I had my moms permission but her cousin didnt car. I AM IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM TELLING you TO DO IT W/ A SAFTY PIN OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT! that could end badly.

get your dad's permission or just take anyone over the age of 18 with you ant say their your guardian, mostly they just do not care a friend got her nipples pierced at 17 without her mom's permission
