Why do people say lime wire is illegal?

ok so I have lime wire and it has a filter so that you dont download stuff with viruses and songs ilegally. so why do people keep saying that it gives your computer viruses and its illegal

okay loveboe, so first of all, it has no viruses, I use Lime Wire for around 2 years, and I never had anything, and I've tested all the downloadable versions [] and about the illegality, I dont think that its illegal, and here why...

this program costs money, if you want the PRO version, and of-course everybody knows about its existance, its not a secret pirate software or something like this, and if that would be illegal, the owner of the site and program, I mean the publisher, would be long ago arrested, and for the last couple of years, he wasnt, new versions go out, so I dont think its illegal..

why people might think its illegal, because it is illegal to download copyrighted songs, and well, they are being uploaded to Lime Wire also, but that is a filesharing program, the first song was out, goes from the probability that it was bought, so it is totaly legall.

why people say it gives viruses? I really have no idea, never had nothing close to it..

Sorry, but whether you pay for it or not, since you are not paying for the actual songs, you are technically stealing copy right material... So limewire is not illegal... sharing the copyright songs is...
