Is it ok to sleep in the same bed as a parent?

My dad is a police officer is it okto sleep in same bed with him as am afaid to be on my own

oh wow I thought you meant SLEEP..nevermind. but yes it's okay to sleep in your dads bed, as weird as it may sound I do it sometimes too and I'm 15 lol. but it's only because he has the best bed in the house :]

Yes! lol when my dad travels for business, I sometimes sleep with my mommy in her bed (and by sleep I mean actually sleep not the perverted way, of course!) She has an awesome bed, and it's huge! lol it's fine, don't listen to any perverts who tell you it's wrong!

The fact that your father is a police officer has no bearing on the subject. If you are a teenager, you are a young woman. You would be subjecting him to the possibility of having the same sexual feelings as any other woman would arouse in him.

You may think that it is a harmless situation, but you might be tempting fate and it really isn't worth it for either of you.

If you're afraid to sleep in your own room, try putting in a night-light.

ok ethmer...if a parent ever had any type of feelings for its child in a sexual mannor, then something is not right in the head. that is not either moral, nor normal. in fact its bad character, and a parents love for their children should never even be questioned with sexual thoughts. If it is I would recommend getting some serious help and removing thyself from any temptation. I feel speechless that you even told this young girl this. she should never question her dads love or security over her. she should have the utmost positive image of her father and know in confidence that he would never do anything to harm her. shame on you! I grew up with five older brothers and two older sisters. we all shared rooms, but me being the youngest I just kind of slept wherever I fell asleep so by the time a few of my siblings moved out and I was able to have my own room, I was scared to sleep alone because I never had. so, I either fell asleep with my dad or mom who ever went to bed first and then they would move me to my own bed after I fell asleep. There is nothing wrong with sleeping in the same bed as your dad unless you think there is.

Sorry, lifeseeker42, but I live in the real world. And, sad to say, there are many instances of sexual misconduct by parents.

Accordingly, when asked an opinion of this kind, I will err on the conservative side of caution. I may be wrong but, then again, I may be helping to prevent a negative situation that could ruin someone's life.
