its a matter of faith I suppose. I believe that magic exists but by these forces: demons.
I assume people cast spells, ask for certian things, good, bad, selfish, what ever it is, they are looking for supernatural power.
for example. you ask for a curse for bad on someone, and a demon hears your cry for negative things, and they do it for you. they do it simply for hope that you will continue to believe in your *own* power, to continue to be disconnected from God, or even in the belief of one.
and this is where protection by God applies. but, only by faith. if you believe He can stop these supernatrual forces from harming you, he will stop them, for they are afraid and they know His power. if you dont have faith in your God, then its out of fear, and wont work. simply because you yourself, dont believe or even trust in your Gods power and position.
there is a story in the bible, old testament (Torah), that speaks of a woman who was known as a witch. people would pay her to reveal to them what they asked for, whatever it might have been. but mostly these people asked to see a dead relative/friend/love. she had a demon, who would help her, he would pretend to be the people the customers asked for. but when somebody asked to see, I think it was abraham or moses, not sure, the demon did not appear. infact it was actually the person they asked for. and its because God made it happen. the witch was scared, confused, pooping her pants because she knew this wasnt her demon companion, and that this time it was really a person.
I gave this example to back up my assumption that magic is founded on the supernatural help from demons themselves. if you ask for help, yep, they will show up. some poeple dont know that though.
basically from what I understand, is that you should understand that its possible for *magic* to harm you. very possible. but if you have faith in Gods power, and you trust in Him, really trust that he can do it, he will. because you trust Him.
if there is supernatural forces hurting you, why not supernatural beings like demons, or a God?
if your afraid, seek refuge, and trust in it. and nothing will harm you. for demons were fallen angels, that fear God like nobody else, and they wont ever dare come near you if you have God on your side. and having God on your side is not hard to attain, trust me.
No. The effect of magick is psychological, ...the placebo effect. The effect is very real for believers, because their mind makes it real. But for nonbelievers, there is no placebo effect, and so it does nothing.
Magick doesn't work in an objective sense - it isn't real, but it does work psychologically.

If you don't believe in magick, can you still be effected by it?
Like, if you put a curse or love spell on someone, does the caster's target HAVE to believe in magick in order for their spells to work? Just curious.
This question just goes to the Witches out there... No rude comments. And I don't need any ignorance...
either. Just answer if you know.
Thanks.
