Which is better to drink Ice Cold or Room Temp. water or does it matter?

I've always had this argument with my mum, but my uncle (who's a dr) finally broke it up, apparently there's nothing wrong with drinking cold water...

I prefer ice water. Also, you're body has to burn calories to warm it up.

when I lived in germany, it seemed as if everyone believed that ice water was bad for you. I hated lukewarm water and always asked for ice.
they thought that I would get a stomach ache. lol.
no aches and I enjoyed my one cube of ice in a glass of water.
there is nothing wrong with drinking cold liquids.
