How can I be anorexic?

ok so im extremely fat. I gained weight over the summer and now I weigh 130 lbs and im 5’7. people keep telling me how skinny I am but im not convinced. I really love food. I like have an obsession. and I hate it. I really want to put off the weight I gained and I dont want to eat all this food. I also dont want my mom to get suspicious. I really need some tips on how to not think of food and eating, and how to keep my mom from being suspicious.

guess what im the same height and i weight a little less and i feel the same way as you. in fact i felt like i was reading soemthing that i wrote once. all i can say is that your weight is not your problem its how you feel about yourself. i know i have to work on loving my body more but i really hate it and i feel like if i just lost 10 pounds it would solve all of my problems. but sadly, it wont. so the best advice i have for you is to try and start loving yourself and just eat healther like no junk food or eating out. i still need to work on my self esteem too. good luck

Hello, I am a personal trainer and let me assure you that 130 pounds on a 5’7 frame is NOT overweight. A normal BMI (Body Mass Index, i.e. your optimum weight) for a person of your height is 18.5 to 24.9. Your BMI is 20.4, which means you are right smack dab in the middle of a completely normal and healthy weight.

You would have gain AT LEAST 30 more pounds to be considered overweight.

If a person your height weighs less than 120 pounds, that person would be considered UNDERWEIGHT.

Being underweight is just as unhealthy as being overweight, and more often than not it is MORE unhealthy.

From what you are saying in your message, you think of food as a drug. You don’t want to eat it but you have to. Honestly though, the more you try to not eat food the more it will cause you to binge eat.

This is what happens to anorexics. They want to lose weight so they try really hard not to eat ANYTHING. Of course this leads you to be totally starving all the time, so all you think about is food. Then sooner or later, you freak out and eat a whole cake or something.

If you want to lose weight and not die, the only way to do it is to maintain a BALANCED diet (eating regular meals) and exercise. If you want to lose weight, RUN! go jogging or hit the treadmill. From what I see in your picture though, you look very fit and I don’t think you need to lose ANY weight, judging by your BMI. But if you want to get fit and you think you could trim up, then eat a balanced diet and run. Stay away from candy, chips, alcohol and food that is high in sugar and/or trans fats. Eat multigrain bread/rice instead of white.

The ironic part of what anorexics do to try and lose weight, is that it will actually make you GAIN WEIGHT.

Have you ever heard of the world “metabolism?” Simply put, it is a chemical process in your body that controls how fast and how efficiently your body burns calories.

A person who eats 5 or 6 healthy meals a day, will have a higher metabolism (i.e. will burn more calories, i.e. will shed more fat) than a person who eats 1 meal a day. That is a FACT!

So what I am trying to say is that the more frequently you eat HEALTHY food (fruits, vegetables, grains, good carbs, etc), the higher your metabolism will be.

If you eat a small healthy meal every 2 to 3 hours, your body’s metabolism will constantly be “working” (i.e. burning fat).

On the other hand, if you eat 1 or 2 meals a day, spaced way apart (like say you wake up at 11am, eat at 1pm and then again at 8pm), your body will think it is starving and will store whatever food it gets as fat (so that it can live off of the fat for a longer time).

You don’t want your body to think it is starving and store fat. You want it to know that you are eating food regularly so that it will continue to metabolize. Let me know if you have any questions about diet or exercise.

one of the worst things you can do is be anorexic. if you really see your self as being overweight when people say your skinny, maybe look into talking to someone like a doctor or ect. like the people above me said, being annorexic/bulemic looks soo digusting. dont do it! good luck. if you need anyone to talk to, Im here! What? Your not fat or overweight at all if your 5’7’’ and 130 pounds. I don’t know what your talking about… but anyways anorexic people look nasty and sick, why sould you want to look like that?! Ew. That’s what people willl think of you, and you could die so either way going anorexic or being healthy… Hmmm, I would pick being healthy and staying the way you are over being gross, depressed, and on my death bed. Good Luck, I hope you soon realize that your NOT fat and I hope you don’t become anorexic and ruin your life.

heres advice : DONT be anorexic and just diet and exercise. its really not healthy and you can easily die from malnutrition. anorexics people look gross anyway, and honey are you trying to be a model? you’re not fat at that weight and height!
