Ok I was at school today and we had a project to deal with obama and mccain. And my friend mentioned that there is a verse in the bible that mentions something about a man trying to run for president for four years. And he is in his late 40's and I don't...

remeber the color skin. But we would worship him. And I want to know where in the bible it says that because my mom says that there is a part in the bible where that mentions something like that. If you could tell me what verse that I would greatly be happy! Thanks

The concept of presidents didn't even exist when the Bible was written. Back then, all nations were run by tyrant kings and emperors.

...so no, there's nothing about anyone running for president for 4 years in the Bible.

You're mom is confusing the ridiculous end times books written by people like Jerry Jenkins and Tim LeHaye with what the Bible says.

Incidentally, if you believe Obama to be the antichrist, it's your duty to vote for him (and convince everyone else to, too). Only then can you experience the armageddon you have been waiting with bated breath to see!

arachnid is right. if you believe in the bible and think obama is the anitchrist and well, then its your duty as a christian to vote for him to help the bible stories come true.

in truth the bible isnt accurte at all. theres no way it can predict anything like that for real.

The bible says when the real antichrist comes on the scene, that most of the world will fall at his feet, he will be full of charisma, and seemingly have all the answers.

***Nowhere in the Bible does it say such a thing. Your friend is ignorant about the Bible. Never take anyone's word for anything that's in the Bible...unless you check the Scriptures for yourself...and pray to God that He reveals His truth to you.

***Your mom is wrong...the Bible does not mention such a thing. What I believe your mom is alluding to is the Antichrist. The word Antichrist is mentioned in several places in the Bible:
(1) In [1 John 2:18]...the Apostle John speaks about the spirit of Antichrist [1 John 4:3] which refers to demonic forces behind antichristian teaching and activity;
(2) the great coming ANTICHRIST [Revelations 13:1-10]; and
(3) many antichrists present and active in his time and throughout Church history.

The ones of whom John is here speaking belonged to the visible church but were NOT believers [1 John 2:19]. They denied the reality of the Incarnation of Christ and His relationship to the Father [1 John 2:21-23; and 2 John 7].

NOTES: The Antichrist

The ANTICHRIST (also called the man of sin...2 Thessalonians 2:3)...is the SAME person mentioned in [Revelation 6:2;13:1;14:9, 11;15:2;16:2;17:3, 13;19:20;20:10]

Many emperors of Rome deified themselves...but ANTICHRIST will far outstrip all of his predecessors in his blasphemous ways. There will be ten kings (world leaders) who will give their power and authority to the ANTICHRIST [Revelation 17:12-13].

ANTICHRIST will receive a deadly wound and will be miraculously healed by Satan...this restoration to life will be an IMITATION of the RESURRECTION of Jesus Christ...and the world will wonder after the beast (I.e., ANTICHRIST)...and the whole world (I.e., all of those on the earth who have REJECTED Jesus Christ and whose names are NOT written in the Book of Life...Revelation 13:8) will WORSHIP the ANTICHRIST...and he (ANTICHRIST) will enjoy UNRESTRAINED power for forty-two months (I.e., 3-1/2 years) of the 7 year Tribulation period.

At His SECOND COMING the Lord Jesus Christ will RETURN as KING of KING and LORD of LORDS and will DESTROY the ANTICHRIST and throw him into the Lake of Fire...with ALL of his followers (those who have REJECTED Jesus as Saviour)...there is NO ESCAPE.
