As kiasu points out, it's the Large Hadron Colilder. There's no risk of us killing us all, because the only theory that predicts it could create microscopic black holes also predicts those black holes will evaporate almost instantly. Also (and more importantly), collisions of the power it generates occur all the time in Earth's upper atmosphere, so if that were enough to create a black hole that will eat us all, it would have already happened naturally.

The people who were claiming that were the idiots. The scientists never expected nor wanted it to do that, and in fact, knew it couldn't.
