How to get waves in your hair?

here are some steps:
1. wash your hair out with water or put on a hot wet wash cloth
2. put grease of your choice on
3.brush hair for 5 minutes
4.put on hair oil( oil sheen or olive oil
5brush hair for 5 more minutes
6.put on du-rag for 30 minutes of overnight
7. take of du-rag and brush for 5 minutes.
8. get a hair cut every 2 weeks
soon you will get waves. on the first day yo
you will see results

a good way would be
(make sure you have a low cut
1.wash hair (plain water)
2. beat egg (in a cup)wash hair with it
3.make sure hair is completly rinsed of all egg access
4. dont dry hair completly
5. while hair is wet and wave greace (I used sportin waves)
6. Put on wave cap while hair is still a little damp
7. once hair is dry take off wave cap and brush hair
8. repeat for a few days till u see results

all u have to do is put your du-rag on den magically waves shall come son

simply wash your hair, afterwardz put a lot of grease in your hair, but on a du-rag over nite, take off and ta-da

Those methods wont work if you got natural oils in your scalp,lol.I have natural oils in my scalp,and to put waves in my hair,do not use more stuff in your hair,it'll be all blah... All's I got to do is braid my hair in a big french braid aka three regular braids that also put em' together to make a big french braid,that each has seperate braids right to the roots,and than you sleep with that in,wearing a bandanna or silk scarf would be best,if you wanna rock the waves in the morning,but at night all's you got to do is do the three regular braids and make it into a french braid and wear it the whole day and at night just add some moose to that and TADA you got yourself waves.I have naturally wavy hair,so it might not work that easy for you.Another method is to do the twist each hair up little by little into bobby pins,or just if your hair is really short to just put your hair mostly bobby pins,they will add natural waves to your hair when you take the bobby pins out after most of the day. Do not sleep w/ the bobby pins,because you'll lose most of em' in your bed,if you don't have a silk scarf or bandanna wrapped around your head.Oh yeah and make sure the bobby pins are on wet hair... lol.Good luck alright!

put your hair in a high loose bun and leave it for a really long time then let it go and see what happens

you can buy tripple tong curlers from most department stores and hair outlets try 'bohemian curls' tripple tong curler for natural looking waves

scrunch your hair from the ends to the roots when wet and apply hairspray or mousse of some kind.

Your waves are just laid down curls.
If you have short waves then you should keep a low cut for them to look their best.
If you get your hair cut and you dont get waves, let it grow until your cair starts to curl when you wash it.
When it starts to curl wash it, you dont have to put grease in if its wrapped.

Take it off after you head feels dry of water, and you'll see them.

After awhile you see more waves appear.
When You Get The Amount that you want get your hair cut, and tell your barber not to go against the grain.

Mine come natural.

Lol I have natural. I need ways to straighten it. EVery time I use a straightener, it always goes curly again straight away.

what do you mean when you guys say put grease in your hair?? what do you mean by grease?

Look a lot of people I see dont understand.There are two different type of waves.One The question is about getting waves for short black hair.Which requires greases(unless ou are like ol boy, and it jus comes natural).The process takes a lot of brushing and a wave cap with hot water to soften the hair.Thats how I get mine and that all I know that works.
Now the other method is for people with long straight hair.The curlers and bobby pins stuff.That is why come people are confused cause they dont understand the differences.

This is for the guys basically African Americans. 10 EASY LONG STEPS...

1.If you got coarse hair get a texturizing kit like Sporting Waves,Duke,S-curl etc... follow instructions carefully leave in no more than five minutes. allow hair to dry use a hair dryer or just air dry it.

2.Add a generous amount of hair grease such as Murray's or Nu Nile.

3.Soak a towel/cloth with HOT water. Wring well.

4.Place towel/cloth on your head for about 1 minute or until cloth get cold. repeat twice and apply pressure so that the pomade can melt into your hair.

5.Begin brushing hair at the crown area. make sure you brush your hair evenly around in the direction it grows.

6.Now tie hair down with a doo-rag/wavecap it's best before you go to bed. also anytime is good but just keep it on for about 30 minutes before you go out.

7.Repeat this process 1-2 times a day. make sure you dont where your doo-rag to much cause then your hair can break and you can begin lose your hair.

8.Do not brush after you take wavecap off but if you have to buy some oil sheen hold about 6 inches away and spray the perimeter then take a soft brush and use the side of the bristles to lay down the sheen so it can look brand new everytime you go out, dont shampoo or wet hair for about 1-2 weeks because once the your waves are wet they become loose. The longer you go without shampooing the better your waves will set and if you need to wet your hair buy two wavecaps one you wear out and too sleep and the other to take showers with it, this causes it too get wet but it wont can't loosen up because it's tied down and make sure when you do that you pull the back of the wavecap so you can wring the water out your hair that's optional but it does work.

9.Do not get a haircut for 2-3 weeks. You may get a shape-up/lineup, but NO HAIRCUT!

10.Finally after you get waves after about 3 weeks total . Get a HAIRCUT. Ceasar is good or just get it evenly cut keep it dark not too low cause if you do you'll see the waves but that's because it's a fresh cut wait for the next day to come they will be gone now all that hard work got cut off, but make sure you ask your barber not to use a guard less than the #1 ½ guard - with the grain.

Reminder: Getting waves takes hard work you just cant get instant waves in a day or two it takes time well unless im your barber. I know how too give you waves just by how I cut it. btw im a barber.

HINT:Eggs and Mayonaise is a black remidy to make your hair softer it's basically a conditioner just add about 4 eggs and a bowl or how ever many you need get a jar of mayo mix it in a bowl wait for it to get pasty put in refrigerator for 1-2 minutes then take it out and put it in hair for about 5 minutes then neurtalize and allow to dry... THIS WORKS!!!

try a flat iron and try 2 crimp it 4 atleast 10 seconds on yor hair and continue skipping 2 or 3 inches of length in hair 4 each wave.

1. I got me some murrays cheap 2.00 dollars at walmart put it in a pot of hot water bring it to a boil DON'T LET GREASE MELT ALL THE WAY!!
2.Put it on your hair EVENLY no clumps
3.get your 100% boar brush qagain 3.00 dollars at wally's and brush til you she S patterns
4.put some gel on any kind will work
5.put on your wavecap NOT dOO RAG SH!T WILL FU^K your WAVES UP
6. repeat 2-3 times a day till you see results

Option 1. If you don't have straitening irons, get some. Take a wad of hair you want to wave and clasp the straitening irons over your hair as if you're going to straiten, then twist the irons 360 degrees (a full circle). Pull down the iron with the hair wrapped around it at quite a fast pace. You should have waves! (if you pull down slower, you have curls)
Option 2. French plait your hair in two sections, like to french plaits. Sleep with it in, then when you wake up in the morning, take out the plaits and you have waves.

FIRST YOU HAVE TO MIX SUGER, PEANUT BUTTER AND LARD IN A BOWL. ONCE THE MIXTURE HAS COMBINED, APPLY IT TO YOU SCALP. LET SIT FOR TEN MINUTES. NEXT PUT SOME UNCOOKED MACARONI AND GLUE ON SPARKLES ON YOUR HEAD AND STAND IIN THE SUN FOR 40 MINUTES. MAKE SURE PEOPLE SEE YOU. GOOD LUCK!

All I do is french braid one single braid after showering - let hair dry for 30-40 minutes before braiding - then sleep on it, take the braid out, don't brush, just comb... and tada... perfect waves...

I say keep brushing your hair and wear a du-rag
