How to get msn messenger on a mac?

well, I need to install msn messanger on my laptop, but whenever I try to, I little window pops up saying that I don't have any software to open this application. any1 know how 2 do this? im so bad at computers!

You have two options:

- You can download Messenger for Mac (that's what MSN Messenger for a Mac is called), and it should be able to install itself - it will want to be put in the applications folder, and then it is ready to go. If you are downloading a program with an .exe extension at the end of its name, it won't work because that particular version is designed for PC's and not a Mac. You can find it at:

- An alternative is to download a program called Adium, which will also let you log into MSN (as well as a number of other chat networks, if you are a member - such as IRC, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Google Talk - an you can be logged into all these in a single program, instead of having many separate ones open). thanks well I did that and downloaded it, but another little window popped up saying that the sign in failed bc the the sign in name doesn't exist or the password is incorrect and I know that im typin in the password rite, so how can I create a sign in name that does exist?

The sign in name should be your email address with a MSN passport (usually a hotmail address, but not always) and it should be the full email address, not just the first part. Also make sure when you're typing the password that the caps lock isn't on, I've known quite a few people who have got tripped up because of that.

If you did want to create a new sign in name that does exist, then going to the hotmail website and creating a new hotmail account would be the best option.
