How to cut my own layered hair?

I have long layered scene girl hair and I got it cut like that a while ago and its beginning to annoy me. I have black highlights color blocked into my hair and I don't want to f**k that and/or the layers up.
Any advice on cutting it myself?

by the way, my hairstylist is on vacation and if I had him cut it I would have to wait two weeks and I've cut my own hair before but it was before I got my layers or highlights.]

I'd wait. ittl be wort it. if you screw it up now. youll have to wait a lot longer fro it to grow back. trust me I did it. XD well if you do deside to cuyt it yourself like I did. hopefully it will turn out better for you then me (:

do it, but just don't cut an EXTREME length off, because then if you do it wrong, you can always cut it a little shorter when he comes back
