my friend had snakebites..the same time I got my labret. you dont want to get them infected.. mine never got infected so its all good.. labret and snakes are the same… so when you get it done ask for some oral mouthwash mine was pink..but mouthwash is al the same just make sure its all the same..and when washing your mouth out.. just make the mouthwash get behind the piercing inside your mouth.

I also got this like cleaning thing… like some kind of cleanser..and you just get a cotton bud and wipe it.. but you dont wipe it fully 360.. you go 180 one way then stop and do the other side..cause if you keep going 360 the wool gets caught.

Good luck.let me know if it hurts :)

Haha I have snake bites =D I’ve had my lips pierced 5times total though.

Aftercare for outside: You clean it 2-3 times daily with a warm salt water soak (use epson salt, it’s really cheap and you can get it at your local drug store, don’t use actual salt haha) which you do for 5-10mins, anything below 5 isn’t enough to clean it, and anything over 10 is bad cause there will be too much bacteria in the water. Use an antimicrobial soap 2-3times daily. Apply with a qtip, wash off. When cleaning it make sure your hands are clean and rotate it about 3-7times.

Aftercare for inside: Haha not all mouthwash is the same. Listerine is what I used but you can use any kind, just make sure it’s alcohol FREE! No drinking alcohol, don’t smoke etc. Clean it with the mouthwash after every meal, and any kind of carbonated/caffeine drink. =]

And you should clean it until it’s healed which normally takes 2-3months.

Good luck! =]

I have lots of piercing so just do what I say and you will be okay! :)

FOR THE INSIDE OF THE MOUTH: Use alcohol free, antibacterial(antimicrobial) mouthwash. Rinse your mouth at least 5 times a day, 30 seconds each time. After every time you eat, drink, or smoke you need to rinse. Also before you go to bed and in the morning when you wake up after you’ve brushed your teeth.

FOR THE OUTSIDE OF THE MOUTH: (Wash your hands thoroughly with unscented anti-bacterial soap before cleaning or touching your piercing for any reason.)

1.) Use unscented anti-bacterial soap, with warm water on a Q-tip, and clean around the jewelry, and the jewelry itself.

2.) Rinse off the soap thoroughly with warm water and dry it by gently patting it using a clean, disposably paper product. (napkin/ paper towel) Cloth towels can harbor bacteria and they can also snag on the jewelry.

EXTRA NEED TO KNOW TIPS:

1.) Avoid touching or playing with the piercing. This can make the healing process longer.

2.) You need to clean the piercing as I told you to, until the entire healing process is over. A lip piercing takes up to 3 to 4 months to completely heal. If you get it pierced and have a hoop in it, it may take longer ( as mine did)

3.) Avoid eating any type of spicy, acidic, or salty foods. This can cause stinging, but after a few weeks you’ll be okay to eat what you want.

4.) Avoid drinking milk. Milk has a lot of bacteria in it.

5.) Get a new tooth brush to use and keep it away and covered from other tooth brushes if you have other people in your house hold.

6.) Do not french kiss, or give oral sex ( even if its with a long term partner) a lot of germs are exchanged when you do that.

7.) Make sure you brush your teeth, tounge, and floss after every time you eat.

8.) Getting enough sleep and having a healthier diet makes the healing process easier.

9.) If you have swelling then you can let ice melt in your mouth, or have cold ice drinks, like slush puppies.

10.) Your piercing should get slightly crusty, and this is a good thing. It means its healing. To get the crust off, just do what I listed above about cleaning with soap and Q-tip.

11.) Avoid eating foods like mashed potatoes and oatmeal because they can stick to your mouth and jewelry.

12.) Do not use mouthwash with alcohol in it for any reason, it can irritate the piercing and delay healing.( also burn)

13.) Washing your piercing more than you should is not better. It can cause discoloration of the jewelry and cause irritation of your mouth.

14.) Avoid sharing plates, cups, and eating utensils.

15.) Do not smoke. It increases risks and time in healing process.

16.) Do not drink alcohol, or have large amounts of caffeine as long as you are experiencing swelling or sometimes slight bleeding.

17.) Avoid asprin.

18.) Avoid chewing on gum, fingernails, or even a pencil or any other foreign objects that could harbor bacteria.

19.) Instead of rinsing the inside of your mouth with the alcohol-free mouthwash you can use a packaged sterile saline solution with no additives or non-iodized sea salt mixture which is: Dissolve 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon of the non-iodized sea salt into one cup (8 oz) of warm distilled water. A stronger mixture is NOT better. Saline solution that is too strong can irritate your piercing. Rinse with this for 30 seconds, after each meal, drink, or if your smoke. Also 5 times a day as you would if with the mouth wash. ( I used the mouthwash when when I got my lip done, it does not taste nasty like this mixture )

REMEMBER your piercing is an open wound and should be treated as such.

If you (or anyone) have any other questions just let me know. GOOD LUCK happy
