How do you know are you a lesbian or gay?

I just wondered how people now that tey arent straight?do they know it from birth?my family hate gay people and they would never except me if I would be lesbian,but somehow,I have noticed that if im in chats,I more look at the girl profiles.I dont know but guys they dont interest me too much...when I go on street,I just look at girls,they faces..I hve been kissing with boys,but it was long time ago..but I think I fancy more girls,or maybe im a bisexual...//???I just dont know who I am straight,bisexual,lesbian...I wonder how other people know this...

Well usually its when you become sexually attracted to someone of the same sex as you,you can imagine yourself growing old with them and even settling down with them...Basically you treat them as if a straight guy would treat and straight girl, ove her, sexually please her etc...Some can know from a very young age, I know one girl who swares she was always a lesbian...I knew from a very young age I was bisexual (or more)...If you perfer sexual adventures,relationships with both men and women you are bisexual, if you would rather a woman for the rest of your life your a lesbian...

If you prefer to make love/sleep with an other female instead of cute boys then you can say that you are lesbian. At this stage that you mention: "you prefer to look at girls" is not enough to make a difference.

the antichrist pretty much nailed it... but to add to that, people dont always know, I didnt figure it out till I was 20 (I'm a little slow)... it just depends, some people take longer to figure it out than others... I wouldnt go jumping into a label... you dont have to label yourself just quite yet...

stop stressing!!!just like who you like does it really matter???I mean why do we all place so much I mportance on labels?my advice...go out look at have sex with who you like regardless of gender!!!dont try to pin a label on yourself...does your sexual prefrence really define who you are?no its just who you like...dont base people you like so much on physical but what you feel for them...this will help out with any insecurities you may have about this subject.\hope this helps
