How do I put a blue streak in my hair?

I am getting side bangs next month and I really want to put a blue streak in the middle of them. How do I do this so it wont fade and should I take my hair dye to a salon to make sure that it is done right or si it easy enough to do it alone?

You should probably take it to the salon, just so you get it exactly how you want it. If your hair is dark, I think it needs to have the color stripped out and then colored blue over that. Because you are stripping your natural color you might want to get it done while you are there..then you don't end up with a result you hate.

If you want good results you should get it done at a salon. As far as I know, colours like blue don't last very long. But thats with at home brands, I'm sure the salon brands are better.

one of my freinds got a blue streak in her hair and it cost $80!
all she needed was dye and I would have done it for her! lol
so shop around for a good price, because salons are expensive when it comes to streaks, and the longer your hair is,
the pricier they get

bleach it and dye it blue. recommended brand: punky color.

those works real well on bleached hair. and shows up really pretty but comes off during each wash so u're better off just conditioning that part not shampooing it everyday. OH its really hard to turn it another color in the future if you're trying to redye it.
