Step 1.
register a domain name.
This can be done in several places, go daddy is one.
(I don't use go daddy myself but I mention it as an example)
Step 2.
Find a web host and start an account.
You'll need to find someplace that supports WordPress at a price you can afford.
Most hosting accounts start around $10-20.00 per month, but you get what you pay for. The real cheap places may not be your best choice, again go daddy offers hosting that supports WordPress.
(I don't use go daddy myself but I mention it as an example)
Step 3.
Export your current blog.
This is from the help center of blogger.com. It explains how to get your data out from their servers.

Step 4.
Cut and paste the data from your old blog to your new blog.
This is a very simple version of how to get it all done, but it hits the basics.
Its going to be a lot more involved than this. I would suggest that you learn a little about HTML and Database programming to make the job a little easier. What you are asking to do is not something that I would recommend that you try without having someone handy that knows how to save you if you run into troubles. Arm yourself with a good programming book and learn a little bit about what it is you are wanting to do.
Good luck.
Thank you, goran. That was very helpful. It doesn't sound too complicated. I know a pretty good bit of HTML code. But not too much about programming. I can probably figure it out. I did get an ebook last night and got a lot of pointers from that, so that helped too. I appreciate you taking time out to answer this question. Have a great weekend.

I know that sounded a bit vague, but I didn't have room for the whole question.
I have a blog at Blogger.com. What I want to do is buy and register a domain name and power it with WordPress.
I need someone to tell me, step-by-step, how I need to go...
about doing this. I've never owned a domain name, so I have no idea what I need to do.
I want to move my entire blog from Blogger to Wordpress. Will that be possible without losing my content?
I originally started my blog at WordPress, but I could not monetize it there, because I had a free account, so I moved it to Blogger. There wasn't much content at the WP blog, so I wasn't concerned with losing anything, so I basically just started over at Blogger.
I like Blogger, but it doesn't have many of the features I liked at WordPress. One of those features is the ability to have PAGES. It's almost like having a website. I really liked that.
Any help with this will be most appreciated. Thanks!
