How can I tell if my new dog has been spayed?

Hi this is going to sound silly but I have just brought my children a female dog the place I got it from said that they was not sure if she had bein spayed please help and tell me how to find out thanks

There should be a tattoo in one of her ears. I dont know if they do that where you live but here they do. Both my cats have it and im pretty sure they do it for dogs. If you got it from a breeder then they like to get them done before selling so that you cant breed the animal.

Might not be the tatoo there, but the scar will be visible even if done well. In the center of her belly it runs parallel with her body between her teets. My dog has a scar that is around 1/4 the length of her belly. There might be fur in this area covering the scar, but close examination should find it fairy fast.

Yup, my dog had laser spay and her scar is about an inch long, in the center of her belly.

If she came from a rescue, you probably should take her in for a “check up” anyway…the vet will be able to tell if she’s been spayed…These days they’re doing laser spaying, to the scar is VERY small…But at least the vet will know where to look, and will know EXACTLY how small the scar is…

there will be a scar under her belly near where her legs open straight down the middle…

hmm that is odd… well there should be a scar, or just ask the vet when you take her in for shots…
