My brother had a friend who joined the Navy. This friend's family didn't have much money but he saved his Navy pay for a long time and got a nice MG Midget. He loved that car and was heartbroken when someone stole the luggage rack off of it. After this happened he got a screwdriver, drove to the airport, and drove around until he found another MG with a luggage rack and took it. In his mind he worked hard to buy this so since someone stole his he was entitled to someone else's. A lot of people shoplift because life has been unfair to them and in their mind the world owes them something. Does that sound like you?

Some people find their life mundane and boring. Strolling out the door with their unpaid items makes their heart race and their adrenaline course their veins. Walking to their car their senses are heightened as they listen for the sound of steps of asset protection behind them. Every step closer to their car they are more sure they will get away with it and when they leave with their stolen goods the rollercoaster of emotions seems to be the only excitement in their otherwise uneventful lives.

Some shoplifters just want something they can't afford or something too frivolous for them to spend their own money on.

Whatever drives you to steal the endgame is not good. Eventually you will get caught and convicted and this will follow you around for the rest of your life. Chances are asset protection at the stores you frequent are already aware of your shoplifting. They usually do not stop every person they see shoplifting. They wait until they have all the elements they need for an airtight case and an easy conviction. With each success shoplifters get bolder and steal larger items until AP stops the party.

You need to figure out what emotions are driving you to steal and deal with them in a more positive way.

Develop a sense of right from wrong - it's stealing, it's Wrong - stop being in denial, 'just can't help myself' 'I need a challenge' - Get a video game !! - or if you're 'helpless', seek professional help !!

Think you are addicted to shoplifting. Seriously, you got to stop. This is moe to personal problems. So it depend on you. Tell yourself that you can do something which is good and still challenging.

Good luck!

Try keeping your hands in your pockets.
Or maybe not surrounding yourself with temptations unless you have money for it because eventually it'll catch up with you and the law enforcement agencies all over the world love to give away jewelry for your wrists and ankles.

stealing is a disease, not something people enjoy doing, it's called being a klepto. If I were you I'd seriously seek some professional help, I mean I know a few people with this issue and took them something huge to stop, they wound up getting caught and arrested, I hope things work out for you before things get to that point good luck
