What is the best cure for hiccups that you know of?

gripe water........I dunno if they sell that anymore, been a while since I was a kid and hiccuped all the time........or any combination of Fennel and ginger........actually water works well also, or hold your breath, the last one works best for me (drinking something)......

If you concentrate on your breathing it helps alot.
In and out in and out making sure that both in and out are even.

drink coke or any fizzy drink. A sip will do, I had the hiccups just a few hours ago.

This hiccup cure works for me everytime. Ask someone to look you in the eye, point their finger like a mother scolding a child and demand for you to hiccup. Hiccup! Right now! You heard me, hiccup! Repeatedly, Make sure it's in a firm, scolding tone. Works within a minute.
I thought it was something for me personally because I am so headstrong and hate being told what to do, but I just tried it on my 17 yr. old daughter who has had the hiccups for the last 3 hours and it worked instantly. She is still amazed.
