please I want to be a emo but I did'nt know how to dress emo and how to act like a emo? I want to know all about emo!

well I might not be emo.. but I know that you cant just do it over night its not a game,.. peole actully take this seriously.. you cant just do it you have to be it.. if you were emo you would no..its basically the way certain people feel and stuff... well I am not trying to be rude I am just saying

Why would you want to be EMO, if you know nothing about it? Why dont you be confident in who you are, rather than trying to be some stereo typical category?

Emo is a stupid lable. If you want to be 'emo' go and dress in black and cry or something. But why not just be yourself, dress how YOU want to dress, and dont lable yourself. For a start, its more fun to be who you want to be, instead of a mindless clone of someone else, and secondly, if you pretend to be someone else, or try and fall into a sub-category people aren't really liking you, but someone you're completely oposite to.

Don't be emo, don't be prep, don't be punk, don't be hippy, don't be boho, etc. Be YOURSELF, which might be a mix of everything.

you have to evolve into being emo first sit by your self if you are in school become the weird kid walk with your head down and complain a lot look at others as children and pity their childish ways do not wear yellow, purple, green,or blue then listen to metal wear black clothes and don't care about anything and then only then can you dye your hair

emo is a genre of music.. therefor you cannot be emo.

It doesn't matter how you dress. It doesn't matter how you look. All that matters is how you FEEL. If you are emotional and sad. If you are a dreamer and wish for things that give you a heart ache when you think of them because you don't think it is possible for you to get. THAT is emo. THAT is what we're about. NOT dressing black. It is not what we display ourselves as because that can always be a mask, covering up ouselves.

OH' DEAR LORD! All these people's opinions are horrid. I'm 'said' to be emo. Ugh, I guess that means I'm emotional, but that doesn't necessarily mean I cut (That doesn't mean I don't tho...) But anyways, all these people are being very stereotypical, which is not a good thing. I personally hate being classified. But I'm just going to anwser the question.

Being 'emo' means your a emotional person. You have strong emotions, and when a certain cause comes up that appeals to you, you feel very strongly about it. Dressing
'emo' is different tho. If you want to 'dress emo' you wear a lot of black with random neon colors. (I t walk around judging random people, because that is WRONG. (Ever heard of it?)

Dont because most 'emo's' cut themselves. I still do and wish I never started. So now I am forced to hide in secrecy and be 'emo' forever. Trust me and ask yourself a question 'Do I want to see 50 cuts on my arm and see them bleed everyday while trying to hide them from everyone?'

My friend says she's emo and says she cuts herself in the bathroom, but I dont believe her. Especially the so called scar she keeps showing people that she supposedly cut herself there, I know it was just her cat, she has two. who would want to be emo, REALLY!!!

to be honest you wouldve gotten a lot better response with a quetion how to dress scene because emo and scene are to different thing emo is short for emotionel hardcore wich means you in it for the mor emotional side of it and scene just means your in it just cause you like tha style a lot of people get those two confused and all get labeled as emo when half of them like the style wichi am assuming is what you were wondering. correct?

well first, theres no real general attitude of emos. the stupid media thinks that emos are depressed and cut their wrists and bleed black. it a load of rubbish.
well skinnies (girl tight ones) are a must, usually a lot of black but it is not a must.
a studded belt
a long fringe that covers half of your face (hair is cool with lots of breight colours like blue, pink, purple, red is uber emo and so is purple)
thick rimmed glasses if you have glasses
aviator sunnies (thats more scene but it doesnt matter)
converses or vans or other types of canvas sneakers.

im not putting you down for wanting to be emo like most of these people are doing for im emo but really emo is a life style and really bad things of your life contribute to this which most people turn to emo.ill make a deal with you if you want to be emo tell me why and ill help you.

I think 'being emo' can mean differant things in the 21st centry. It can be a fashion statement, or and actual 'emotion'. I was 'emo' for a while, I dressed like I was feeling, and I was in deep deep depression, the brightest color I wore was red, and everything else was always black. If you google 'emo' then I'm sure you could get some really great ideas.
