Tapons are good for physical activities like swimming. If you wear a pad while swimming it gets all gross and might fall out. Pads are good if you don't like the way you have to put in a tampon(like me) but pads feel like a diaper and get itchy after a while. But a good thing to remember about tampons is to never sleep with them or wear them more than 8 hours. Doing that can lead to Toxic Shock Syndrom (TSS). Here is a good website to explain TSS.

I prefer tampons - but you still need pads for when you sleep and when your period is almost done.

I agree with stephanie, they're nicer because you don't feel like your wearing a diaper all day.

Honestly it's a personal choice, whichever feels better and more comfortable for you... I have issues with using tampons and the thought of toxic shock syndrome kinda scares me so I avoid it, but if you're going swimming, you kinda need it... do whatever feels best for you...

tampons were always uncomfortable to me until I lost my virginity..but now I use them..and I only wear pads at night and towards the end of my period..ill also wear them if im just chill around at home all day.

its definately personal preference. Tampons can cause toxic shock syndrome. They say that you shouldn't get tampons that are really high absorbency if you aren't bleeding super heavy because it can lead to TSS. They multi packs are probably best. Pads tend to feel bulky. They have the always pads that are super thin and they work great and it doesnt feel so bulky. I prefer to use tampons towards the beginning of my period and pads towards the end ( the last 2 days or so)

I definatly prefer tampons, I feel cleaner, and know (depending on my flow and what absorbency of tampons I get) that I won't leak out all over myself. And the whole feeling like your wearing a diaper thing, I hate that, I use to wear big thick pads when I was younger, and I always felt my butt was oddly shapen from the huge pad in my pants. So... again I prefer tampons.

nice huh ? Answered by gwenferns on May 02, 2008, 01:18AM

that's a personal choice. I used pads when I first started my period. now, I've switched to tampons. it's all up to you and which ones are comfortable for you.
