Science fair project ideas?

Christmas! :D Asked by xobangsizzlexo 10 months ago, 6 answers.

Oh my garnit, I really need a science fair project and my teacher is really strict. I have no ideas what to do, and the project has to be 8th grade level, and at least interesting. Any ideas??

Oh, and you have to be able to do experiments and what...

not. Like which vegetable has the greatest electric charge or whatever.

My friend and I did a project in 8th grade to see which fruits/vegetables make your face softer and actually had the different ingredients for other people to try out at the fair.

well first how long do you have to do this project?

for a short term project [1-3 weeks]

1. What materials glow under black light? Can you use the UV light to find invisible, possibly smelly, stains in your carpet or elsewhere in your house?
(thats kind of fun because you can bring in a couple different materials to test like carpet, jackets, jeans, maybe even a piece of wood)

2. Crystals are not alive, but they can grow. Growing crystals requires a little time and patience. If you have both (plus a few other ingredients), you can grow your own crystal gardens. (cute idea, and fun but you need your parents or gaurdian around for this one)

3. How is the speed of sound calculated?

well...for my project...I did the study of fingerprints and my dad dragged me around town getting random strangers fingerprints...no joke! we got some strange looks and questions, but it was fun. but I really dont suggest this...especially in a rambunctious city, or creepy villages...
