Help me get on with my life. desperate!!

My best dog in the world"Jack" Asked by nickthetristar about 1 year ago, 3 answers.

I suffer with gad (generalised anxiety disorder) which makes me feel really sick and worried everyday. Also I suffer anxiety attacks, and get worried about everything under the sun. I need some help to deal with it but I'm not sure what to do. I'm...

already getting help by pchams but that is not doing much help, and I dont want to tell the woman I see that, because it's rude, and mean. So what can I do to help myself.

All answers will be taken into account, thanks, nick

You need to speak to someone who really understands anxiety disorders - advice from people with no experience will be of no use.

I think you should statrt by telling that lady because she will want to know how you are progressing.

If you are honest with her she can adjust the help she is giving you and could possibly refer you to someone else more experienced if necessary.

Basically worry doesn't change anything and it usually gets in the way of things we want to do.

If you really want to learn to fly you don't want to start worrying about it... so just start accepting things the way they are and start enjoying life.

I don't know if this is good advice or not but just think of it like this
1: I bet a lot of the things you worrie about are probly going to just piss you off when you try to help them or just be mean to u
2: who cares what happens, everything dies or gets broken so or later

When you say pchams, I assume you mean medication? Well if I understand you correctly, you dont want to tell her the medication isnt working because that's rude? Uhm no, it isnt rude, she's there to help you get better and if one thing isnt working she'll try another. Also psychiatrists are trained not to be super sensitive, so just tell her... if you've been lying just explain why, trust me, she will understand... (believe me, they've heard it all... and lying to spare their feelings is a very common one).
Also consider cognitive behavioral therapy. Your doctor should be able to refer you to someone...
