Use security suite software. I would recommend ESET smart security. http://www.eset.com It costs for an annual subscription but it is worth it. Although there is a free 30 day full trial.

best one is lavasoft adaware.se personal edition this is free to use at home and is very thorough. remember to tick yur boxes to delete what it finds..
