Acoustic v electric guitars

Asked by mymelody 6 months ago, 3 answers.

Hi everyone! Please forgive my ignorance about this, but is it true that even if you know how to play acoustic guitar you'd still have to learn or take lessons on how to play electric guitar? Are they really that different from each other? What about ...

acoustic /electric guitars, does it mean it is both that you can use it either or? What's the advantage? Is this kind a good beginner's guitar? What do you think of Washburn D100,D10sb, EA8B cutaway(what is cutaway? what'sthe function advantage?),O/S OG2WH dreadnought B-stock(dreadnought?) or a yamaha F335BL? Thank you!!!

I found that if you start out playing acoustic, and get good at it, playing electrics are like butter. I don't know how to describe it. The action is higher on acoustics, so when you play electric it feels like you barely have to do anything and your fingers just glide around. Still love acoustics though. I'm not crazy about super distortion or any weird electric guitar effects. Just good thick tones. Though of course you have to mess around with different things to figure out what you like, and what your playing style is

It's the same thing. If you can play one, you can play the other...
I did that.
I started with an acoustic guitar, and when I managed to get some skills and practice, I bought my electric guitar.
Same thing.
Just the noise is a bit different... well, a lot different...

You can do a hell of a lot more with an electric...so many different kinds of tones and sounds effects you can put through it, and a bigger variety of playing styles.
Electric guitar strings are under low tension compared to an acoustic, so they are more flexible and easier on your fingers.
As for your other questions...sorry I don't know
