will gargling salt water help a sore throat?

Will gargling salt water help a sore throat, I've been doctors an been taken pencillin, but how long will it take to start helping my throat and stop the pain and for the swelling to go down, I got my antibiotics today and have took 4 tablets already...

also try eating some hunny with lemon
that helps some as well
but like eat it slowly let it settle down your throat..
and drink LOTS of water..
also buy some robitussin..that can help a lot.

Yeah when I had my tansuls taken out my throat was so sore so I had to gargle salt water it tastes really gross!!! But it worked.

It takes time for the antibiotics to work. The gargling of salt-water may help, but the taking of a couple tablespoons of honey a few times per day will also help (take them after gargling, not before). Honey, besides soothing your throat, helps to kill bacteria in your throat by dehydrating them.
