Guinea Pig Hair

Do Guinea Pigs have the same sort of hair as a cat? We are thinking of buying a guinea pig, we were told if you are allergic to cats that a Guinea pig is not a good choice. Is that true?

No my dad is extremely allergic to cats and we had 3 guinea pigs for 8 years and he never ha a problem

I have a guinea pig and I am allergic to cats and I do fine I have had him for 7 years

not nesaceraly. say, if you bought a guine with long hair, it might cause some allergies becuse it can be harder to clean its self. but if you get one with short hair then it would make the guine cleaner and it wouldnt pick up that many allegenes. but if your guine does start makeing your allergies come back, then just go to the petstore and ask if there is anything that you can use for cleaning him. NEVER put a guine pig in water, if its face and ears get wet it could die. if you get a syrian hamsters those are one of the larger hamsters but are more aggresive, but if you get a teddy bear hamster… well the name says it all. but no, the guine pig hair is not the same as a cats. but I could be wrong. hope my advice helps. rats are good pets, and there just a tiny bit smaller than guine pigs, and ausome shoulder riders I heard.
