Is it legal to get a job at 13?

is it legal to get a job when you are 13??? ineed the mony my family is unable to give me the funding I need for a collage fund, I realy need the mony. I did my calulations and I will only have aroud 16,823 $$$ when I am 18 that is witha minimum wage...

job and a 5 $ a week salery from my parents. I will need about 71,000 to go to the collage in italy I want. any ideas to earn mony for collage??

not most places. some places you have to be a certian age to work in food or retail. you can apply for a workers permit, but if you can find someone to babysit for that's your best option. once you get enough money I would put it in a savings account so you can gain as much interest as possible!

You can't earn that much in 5 years... no-one in your situation could. Think about it... that's something like $280 a week for the next 5 years.

Most people do NOT have that kind of cash floating around, and have to get loans, and their parents co-sign the loans if their own finances are in order. The bank would want to make sure that your parents would be in a position to pay off the debt if you can't, once you start to work. It's very common for people coming out of college to be making a monthly loan payment for their education.

Save what you can, as long as it doesn't stress you out, because it looks good to the bank if you can pay something yourself, towards the tuition.

Do you think that can work? Do your parents have steady income that might qualify them for loans?

okay. but it is possible. I am 13 now I just turned 13 in august. I make 5 dollers a week and if I get a job when I am fifteen and am paid 7 dollers and hour for an 8 hour day for 3 years and I get 50$ birthday money a year. plus I have 125$ in my old bank account. now do th math.

So you're quitting school in Grade 10? And how will you qualify for post secondary education without a high school education?

maybe you can earn a scholarship,get grants, etc...why are you worried so much about it now? By the way the minimum wage is $7.25.

no I would go to school in grade 10 I would just get a night, or part time job. and I am worried about this now because I don't want to end up unsucessful.

Ok but don't forget -- grade 10, 11 and 12,,, you're going to have about 3-4 hours homework a night.

I do know but at the moment I get up very erly and I manage all of my homework in the morning. I go to bed 8:00 adn get up 4:30 adn I get out of school at 3:30 and get home about 3:45
