How long will my ears stay swollen?

Model? Asked by jennjennbaby about 1 year ago, 6 answers.

I gauged my ears last night, and I jumped from a 12g to a 6g. I was just curious if anyone knew how long they would be swollen or if they even should be! lol. And how long they're going to stay tender. thanks guys! Enjoy the rest of the evening. happy

Eek probably awhile. You should only do 1 or 2 gauges (at the most) at a time. By stretching gradually, you'll be certain not to rip any of the area, and have less chance of infection. I'd say it'll be like that for a few days, at least...

From a gauging site:
It's important to change your gauge gradually, allowing ample healing time between sizes. If you move too fast, you might damage your skin enough to create scar tissue. Scars make your ear look as if it is cracking around the hole and also makes it very difficult to change gauge.

Wow you skipped a lot, that's crazy. Since you skipped so much, your ears will be swollen for a pretty long time lol. I just went from 2gs to 0gs today and they've been hurting for hours. Mine will probably be swollen for a week, but yours will be swollen for awhile since you skipped so much

I have gauged many times so they will be tender for 2 or 3 days and they might swell for a week. if you did it right it will go down in 3 or 4 days. I hope I was a ble to help.

You aren't supposed to skip, I mean, I skipped to a 16 when I first started, but skipping from 12's to 6's is not a good idea...skipping two sizes can damage your ear and make it harder to stretch in the future. Besides if you were meant to go from a 12's to 6's they wouldn't have made 8's. Just saying.
