Why are gas prices so high if the companies make tons of profit?

I dont understand this gas compaines are pulling in billions of dollar each day and yet they need to keep the gas prices that high? yes the price of the barrel has gone up but even though the price of a barrel is around $100 theres no need for the price per gallon be that high. they could drop it but there too cheap. The war is over for cirise sake.

Well the truth is that we are running out of gas in the world. some oil wells are completly dried out and they are trying to get as much as they can but most of our oil came from the middle east and since we are in conflict we are in a desperate state. the gass right now for the companies is $78 a barrel which is very expensive and all those companies have to buy the oil and the cost of purafin and refinig the oil is really high so those companies arent really making all that much profit.

Actually the price of a barrel of crude isn't as high as what people think. the true price of a barrel is not over $100.00 as most people believe and as it is reported by the mainstream media. A barrel of crude is just over $53.00 a barrel. I know you are thinking this dude is nuts. THe price that is reported by the drive by media is actually the futures prices. and that is what we are paying. it's what somebdy thinks it can get up to in the future. And the short answer to your question is because they can. sorry, but thats the truth. hey you have the web investigate it. you will see the truth. then you need to tell all your friends how we are getting ripped.

This really won't help, but if they hadn't killed the freaking electric car, less people would need to use gas, but of course, GM had to kill it... and George Bush Jr... for their buddies in the oil business...jerks... Maybe Toyota or Honda will come out with an electric model of one of their current hybrids. Japanese cars are much better anyway...lol.
