Fraternal twins each come from their own egg

Identical twins have the same DNA, fraternal twins dont... they share about the same amount of DNA as regular siblings (although they tend to be more similar than other siblings because they are in the same cohort)

like ichibanarky said- identical twins 1 egg splits in half= 2 babies formed (identical/simese twins). fraternal twins 1 egg from both falopian tube is inseminated (two different babies)
