Do you want hair extensions?

Since a lot of people are after hair extensions, I thought I'd make this to help some people out with their questions.

Synthetic Hair - Don't get it, it's a waste of money, it might only cost around £10 but you can't do nothing with it, you can't...

straighten it, curl it or even wash it because it's plastic it would just crimple up and you would only be able to us it for a short period.
This is a cheaper, man-made alternative to real hair. It cannot be subjected to heat as the hair will melt, but it can look sensational when used cleverly.

Real Human Hair - This is the best hair you could possible get, if you're in a shop they would recommend you the best but it might possibly be a few more pounds.
(1)Bonded Hair Weave - This is the least durable kind of hair weave and only lasts 1 month until it would need to be replaced. This kind of hair weave gets glued to the scalp

(2)Braided Hair Weave - This is a 2 step procedure. The natural hair is braided along the center of the scalp (under the hair) and then the hair weave gets sown into the braids. This type of hair weave normally lasts around 2 months.

(3)Fusion Hair Weave - This is the most lasting kind of hair weave, since it needs be changed every 3 months. This procedure involves waxing the hair weave to the natural hair.

How to do they work? - My hair extensions are clipped in, you can buy the clips off Ebay for less than £5 for 10 clips, it really depends how many layers you want in your hair by the thickness of your own hair.
For real thin hair it would about 2 layers [One at the top and one on the bottom of your head] for thick hair [Like mine] it would be about 4 layers.
If you decide to use clips, you just sew them on the top of the hair extensions, this could take up to two hours, but if you do this right if could take much less.
I would recommend the clips because you can take the hair out and put it back in whenever you want to and they don't get ruined and would last for up to 5 months.

Hair extensions are becoming an increasingly popular way of instantly getting that long beautiful hair some of us can only dream of! Growing your hair long takes 5-6 years at an average of 1 cm per month! Hair extensions can give you around 21 inches of thick hair in just a few hours!

Sikasshimmer, it really depends where you live, because i live in the UK they're around £40, but i don't live in the States so i wouldnt have no idea.
You can buy them off Ebay for much cheaper.

Yes, they can look amazing, I've worn hair extentions for three years, and it helps with your confidence as well.
You can curl and straighten them for diffrent effects.

I use real european hair, you can curl it, straighten it and do what you want.
I wash mine every 2 weeks with shampoo and conditioner, but leave them dry naturally because they can go dry. :]

Strand by strand extensions are THE way to go if you are considering getting hair extensions. Try to find and extensionist like me who offers safe, healthy strand by strand extensions that don't break out your hair but actually promote healthy hair growth.

brunettexxbaby, l love your post. The probleme with extensions is that the break the hair off, moving the hair line.

Well, if you make a plait on every line of the head you want the hair extensions to be placed on it's less likely to brake the hair off.
But I dont do that, I just clip them in, and sometimes when you buy them with the clips already attatched to them they are normally pointed down .. well I have mine pointing up, they won't fall out and they'll stay in until you take them out .

Please do not buy single ones .. it's pointless, you spend more money on single ones when you could be spending less with having lines together in a packet.

I have course hair, but its shoulder length. Brunettexxbaby what do you recommend I buy??

Oh, and even though I would like clip ins, if I jump around and stuff, they won't embarressingly fall out or anything right?

no once you've clipped the extensions into your hair tightly they won't fall out untill you take them out.
But I would get read europian hair and the same colour as your own hair.

I wouldnt advise anyone buying them online as you dont exactly know what colour you're buying, and some places dont allow you to send them back.

Maybe theres a shop somewhere around where you live that can match your own hair up with the extentions.
I can remember I went into one shop and she started matching the hair with my ROOTS, if you're in a shop and they try and do that don't buy them because the extensions should be the same colour as your hair not the colour of your roots.

And as for how many I use, my hair is not really thick when I've straightened it, so not only did I want my hair to be longer but I wanted it to be thicker, I do use atleast 6 strips around my head, but as I said dont get single ones.

Weaved is when it's sewn onto your hair.

Clip ins don't fall out ..

Oh and before I go, when people pay £100 for hair extensions its stupid.
Dont pay more than £50 all european hair is the same.
