I once had fleas in my flat, and my flatmates and I used 3 or 4 of those 'flea bombs'- we set them off in the afternoon, stayed elsewhere overnight and came back to air the house the next day and vacuum. With the fleas in they yard, you might have to bite the bullet, pay a bit of extra money and get an exterminator to spray the house.

Go to the Garden department at Walmart. There you will find Ortho Max Insect Killer for Lawns. It will kill fleas, ticks grub worms etc. We use it twice a year. We have several pets and never have fleas.

ortho also kills many beneficial insects. never a good solution.
salt works well inside on the carpets and floors. sprinkle all over, vacum, repeat twice a week. lost cost and works.
there are exterminators that will use less harmful treatments for your lawn. you just have to do a little research. and wash your pet in a pet-friendly, non-chemical flea shampoo, also research.
a little apple cider vinegar in their water helps to keep them off. 1 teaspoon in a water dish.
I just hate to add more chemicals to the planet.
it takes a little more work on your part but it is worth it.

I just found out about a natural product...you can buy it at the Health Food Store (human quality), and at garden stores...it's called Diatomaceous Earth (aka diatomite). It's totally non-toxic to humans and animals, but does something to 'bug' skeletons. You have to go lightly in flower beds, as this will also does in the good bugs, like earthworms.

' Diatomaceous Earth kills common household and garden pests (excellent on FIRE ANTS) like roaches, ants, fleas, beetles and many others. Sprinkles easily into cracks and crevices where bugs hide and wipes them out! Also use as ‘flea powder’ on your cats, dogs, or other pets without any toxic affects to the pets.'
