Finally giving up, but why?? why?? did "he" hear my prayer??

Asked by luvmeornot1212 10 months ago, 10 answers.

I'm moving on, for more than 4 years, I've been praying, praying for the one that is in my heart and in my head everyday, he was on drugs and I believe my prayers and his moms helped him get out of them, but I also asked to be there and help him, because...

I still love him, but since he hurts me so much I am finally letting go, but why?? why?? I wanted to be there, and he loved me too, he told me he did, but why?? if I'm a good girl, I'm 24 years old, I was truly in love!! my heart felt like it was bursting when we were together, why??

Never under estimate the power of prayer. Prayer is such a vital part of life and so many just see it as a weakness or a crutch. Your prayers/intercession have obviously helped bring this one through. Support him. If your part is done then God will reveal it to you and subsequently close the door on the relationship. So many times I have heard of people that were praying for loved ones for years and years and it seemed they were just bouncing off the ceiling. However, God uses these circumstances to do so much more than our small understanding can deal with. Think about it like this. God doesn't just work in his life as you pray. He works in yours and all the others that are involved with him too. We need to take God out of the box we put Him in and see Him for who He really is. He will work it all out for His glory and for the betterment of all concerned. If you get to be part of the process then, great. If not then take courage in knowing you were obedient and diligent in your prayers and support.

Things change...
Life moves on...
Your soo young.
And when your young, you can get confused.
... Fall in love easily...
But, it sounds like its time for you to move on.
Nothing last forever...
You'll probably Always love him, and think about him for years...
Even if you do find another lover.
That's just how it is,
life is hard...
And than you die.

God's like a parent, they need to have you LEAVE when the time is right.
As in, God had you leave when you were born.
And Your parents have you leave...
Well, when you leave. lol
But personally, I don't believe in god. :P
I believe in science and FACT.

Prayer don't work because there is no one to hear them. God doesn't exist. You do what you can for the people you love but sometimes you have to pull out to save yourself. You can be there for him. Just don't let him take you with him. There's no divine being to intervene. As far as him getting off drugs its up to him. You can be supportive of him. but sitting back and letting God take it will do nothing. Maybe try an intervention led be a counselor. All in all its up to us.

I don't have any advice. I'm very sorry about your relationship. I know how it hurts and I'm so sorry this happened in your life.

He got off drugs, didn't he?? Then the hard stuff was answered, perhaps. Maybe God is more of a benevolent parent...not giving you what might do you harm...This relationship put you thru hell once, why are you so eager to get back into it??

Let it go, if it's to be, it will come back...allow yourself to be open to all that is still out there...you've been missing it all, as it goes by...I heard that when one door closes, another one opens...you might be standing right in front of it, and don't even know it.

Prayer - how to do nothing and still pretend to be helping.

Or something like that.

I guess you should just let it go.

Remember, God does not always answer your prayers the way you think He will and also He cannot change anyone's free will. God always hears your prayers but answers them in the way that is best for you, and He knows you better than you know yourself. Perhaps the one who is in your heart has not changed because he does not want to. But I would never stop praying.
