Fashionable winter-clothes?

Okay, so here's the deal: I live on a tropical island (Curacao) but in February I have to go to the Netherlands to go to college there. '
But I seriously have no idea how to dress myself. What I usually wear here is a skinny jeans, a shirt and...

flipflops. (or flats) So I just don't know what to wear when its really really cold weather. When I went to the US this summer I already bought a jacket and a few long-sleeved shirts, but that's it. How can I look fashionable even with a lot of clothes on? What do I have to do? Layer? Scarves? Boots? Hats?

Have any ideas? Cus I'm all for fashion, but I'm just not used to winterclothes.

Scarves can be cute if done right
Boots are a plus, above the jeans.
Tailored Coats that aren't bulky or oversized
Dresses and Skirts with tights underneath and ballet flats.

You can still wear skinny jeans. just add sweater, long sleeve shirts, coats, hats, gloves, cute scarves, boots or fuzzy warm mocasins. you can even wear short sleeve shirts just wear hoodies over them.

Skinny jeans, Uggs, and hoodies are good (: Its what I wear.
Just get some cute jackets, long sleeved shirts put them underneath cute little tshirts.
