Fanfiction:what is your opinion?
What is your opinion on fan fiction in general? What about it turns you on or off? Why or why do you not like it? What forms do you enjoy the most?
My personal opinion is that the community has grown too large, and while you occasionally find a...
piece of work worthy of being published, most of it has either an extremely poor plot, or grammar that would make a slum-dweller in Mississippi cringe.
I enjoy stories that go parallel to an already existing storyline, with original characters and such, or add on to it past the end, as long as the characters are portrayed correctly.. I can count on one hand how many Alternative Universe stories I like, and I absolutely hate complete rewrites. I definitely hate out of character stories, like some adult heroes in a completely unrelated high school environment or such. One shots are great, as long as they're in character. The erotic fictions, absolutely disturbing, especially some of the combination you find these days.
