Has anyone had lasik eye surgery?

can anyone tell me anything about lasik eye surgery . I need it when im 18. My eye sight is so bad I cant even see a foot in front of me its all blurred. Does it hurt? How do they do it, I know they open a top layer of your eye. but what do they do after that? I dont care how much the price is, its so worth it.

I had it done approx 6 years ago. The procedure takes about 1 min per eye. You can go online to read about it. After the procedure you will be able to read the time on a wall clock immediately and you will have to wear dark glasses for a few days. I think some clinics will do one eye and then a week or so later you'll get the other done.
My vision was pretty bad as well ...I have 20/40 now which means I do wear a lite pescription ...mainly for nite driving. But the feeling of having good eyesight is awesome. Just be sure you get a well known doctor, not some fly by nite outfit.
