Does lazer eye surgery permanently cure myopia?

I am nearsighted, and was thinking about taking lasik. I am just wondering, does this permanently cure myopia?

The only experience I have with this is that 3 people I know have had the surgery...all 3 had complications, return visits and are still wearing glasses. One is suffering from permanent damage and is worse then when they got the surgery.

This is something you should ask an eye care specialist. They are the ones with the knowledge and experience on this.
