Ex boyfriend ruining my social life

My Boyfriend and me have finished since jan. He was arrested on attempted murder charges against me. I dropped them feeling sorry for him, stupid? yes. now when I want to go out he follows me and threatens to kill himself to get me back, if I ignore him he shows me up and smashes glasses over his head. he really shows me up and guys never want to talk to me incase it gets back to him and then he would be after them. these days I sit in to keep everything calm, im only 21 and its really ruining my life, I just recently got a new job and I cant even celebrate it in peace. hes had a really rough life, even though thats not my fault. WHAT CAN I DO TO GET RID OF HIM, I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO INCASE HE DOES SOMETHING SILLY.

Report him to the cops. This time PRESS charges no feeling bad for him. It's not to late to press charges. Maybe move in with a roomate (girl) so he'll back off a bit and you'll feel more secure.

He sounds like he has mental problems!!! Move out or move in with someone else... when he comes ring the police and press charges, you have to or he'll end up either killing you or someone else.
