According to the Bible, only God the Father knows the timing:

The battle of Armageddon is a great, future war that will be fought at Mount Megiddo. This will be the most terrifying and destructive of all wars mankind will experience. The main difference between this and other wars is that the outcome is sure: we know who the winner is! This battle will be fought by men and by spiritual forces. Jesus Christ will return in the midst of this war to prove His power and might. He wins! He will judge the nations of the world and establish His kingdom.

See Revelation, chapter 16, where the preparation for the battle is described in verses 12-16. Read also, chapters 17-20. This “battle” is the final world war and it is more than just a physical war. All of the forces of good and evil will be fighting for power. Jesus wins, and then establishes His reign on earth for one thousand years.

Well right now I suggest that you would use the precious time thats left untill...the end of the world? ANyway, the bible says that the end will come when the gospel is preached to all the nations. The end might also come when you LEAST expect it ...end...

When this happens... it is not really the end... as we say it, it is change... radical change... but, only 1/3 of the worlds population will die... that is happening every day, as we speak... That means that 2/3 will remain living... God is going to burn up this world, along with the heavens surrounding it, so that a new world can come into effect. The bible talks about The New Jerusalem, where there will be no sin, and that Jesus Christ will be the light in the middle of it, living with his people. There will not be any unbelief there, nor fornicators, nor idolators, nor those who love a lie, nor whoremongers, nor dogs (male prostitutes), nor murderers. Only the redeemed, will be allowed to enter. Today is the day of salvation, seek him while he may be found. There is coming a day, when he says, let the unjust, be unjust still, let the filthy be filthy still...This is the day that we all need to prepare for. When this day comes, the door, will be closed for salvation. It is not Gods will for any to perish, he desires that all should come to him for what he freely offers, however, it just will not happen, many, will not accept Christ, no matter what he offers. He gave his life, what more could he give. If any man rejects him, continually, there will come a time, when it will be too late to turn back.

Armageddon! I believe it is the inevitable result of what it is to be human. We are builders first and thinkers second. By this I mean man has this inherent need to be immortal in some way. Not immortal in the sense of longevity but of being remembered. Our encyclopedias are filled to the brim with these immortals.

We were created or evolved (depending on your point of view) having ‘ intelligence ‘. Because we are human we look at this ‘ gift’ or happenstance of intelligence as something special. In reality all it does is give us the ability to reproduce or build upon ideas presented before us. It does not give us the ability to see if it should be reproduced or built upon or even abandoned, just the driving desire to do it.

To me Armageddon is the inevitability of man’s intelligence. There is no forethought for the consequences of our quest for immortality. Look at what man has done, especially since the advent of the Industrial Revolution. We have polluted our air, our fresh water, the oceans and major tracts of land have been contaminated with any number of toxic agents. Our love affair with crude oil is changing the climate of our planet. We know that, but our intelligence doesn’t afford us the option of doing anything different than we have done in the past. We are the only animal on this planet, when left to its own devices, leaves a membrane of pollution, desolation and environmental destruction where ever it goes. Squirrels bury nuts, what they don’t eat grows into nut bearing trees. Honeybees pollinate flowers to get their homes and their food, again creating more flowers for themselves and other organisms to use. This can be said of every other animal on this planet, except man. Climatologists are telling us with urgency that we need to find alternate ways to fill our insatiable need for energy, and many are available. But we vehemently resist; and must be dragged in that direction, kicking and screaming by governmental legislation.

So to answer your question “ Is it Armageddon? Man through his intelligence is Armageddon. Man is here, Armageddon is here.

Matthew 25:31-46

When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations, and he shall seperate them one from another , as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats, And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you, from the foundation of the world. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat, I was thristy, and ye gave me drink, I was a stranger, and ye took me in, Naked, and ye clothed me, I was sick, and ye visited me, I was in prison and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him saying Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? or when saw we thee sick or in prison and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my bretheren, ye hadn't done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, unto everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thristy, and ye gave me no drink, I was a stranger, and ye took me not in , naked, and ye clothed me not, sick and in prisoin, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him saying < Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick or in prison and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmujch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment, but the righteous unto life eternal.

Matthew 24

Vs. 3, And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man decieve you, For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ, and shall deceive many, And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, see that ye be not troubled, for all these things must come to pass, but, the end is not yet. for nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earhquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you, and ye shall be hated of all nations for my names sake. And then shall many be offended and shall betray one another and shall hate one another, And many false prophets, shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, same same shall be saved...And this gospel of the kindgom shall be preached in all the world, for a witness unto all nations, then shall the end come.

Matthew 24:36-51

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Fahter only. But as the doays of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not untill the flood came, and took them all away, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. Then shall two be in the field, the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill, the one shall be taken, and the other left. Watch therefore, for ye know not what hour your Lord, doth come. But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up. Therefore be ye also ready, for in such an hour as ye think not, the Son of man cometh. Who, then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due sieason? Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find doing . Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But, and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming, and shall begin to smite his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunken, the lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of. And shall cut him asunder, and appoiint him his portion with the hypocrites, there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Our soldiers, men and women, are giving their lives on foreign soil, that we may have freedom here, along with the others of the world that desire it. We here at home face a different battle, this one is a battle in the spirit, and one of words. We do not have to spill our blood, but, others are, and it all amounts to the same thing, that we may remain free to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, in sincerity and truth, until he comes back. This is what his church is ordained to do, and for that, we will be held accountable.

The world could end at any moment. We might be living in the end times, but only God knows. Back in A.D. 40 people already were asking this question! So we really don't know. (Although some people believe that the Anti-Christ is already alive...) Oh, and by the way, they made the Left Behind book series into movies!! (2 parts)

No one knows the day or the hour; The Lord will return like a thief in the night.

We are called to live every day as if the Lord will return at any moment.

Note the prayer that precedes the final doxology after the Our Father:

(Deliver us from evil...) 'Deliver us Lord from every evil and grant us peace in our day. In your mercy keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety AS WE WAITH IN JOYFUL HOPE FOR THE COMING OF OUR SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST. (For thine is the kingdom and the power etc.)
