How do i get over this fear of violent movies?

You shouldn't feel embarrassed, it's simply your preference, no different than if you don't like opera music - 'not your cup of tea' - I don't see it as a problem..wish you the best !!

I agree with ambless. It's nothing to be embarrassed about. People have different preferences, that's why there are so many different types of movies.

I hate blood and gore. I don't even care if it is fake movie gore, I still won't watch it. I won't watch movies with s*x scenes either. So when I rent a movie, I always check the back of the box or look it up on netflix to see what it is rated and why.
