After all the atrocities I have seen committed in God's name, I try to stay away from religion as a whole. Every other person is entitled to their faith, just as I am entitled to abstain from it.

Yes, honey, I do love God, with all my heart, mind, soul and strength.

And Yes, he loves everyone of us, even the ones that do not love him. He is always available, and willing to forgive anyone of us, and welcome us with open arms, no matter how we may have hurt him in the past.

It is awesome, how he removes our transgressions from us, as far as the East is from the West... according to his word, which is our guide.

I am very grateful to have been allowed to serve him, what an awesome privilege.

I pray that any who do not know him, will come to find the peace that is available to each and everyone.

And to Lex icon...

The atttrocities that you mention, having seen, should be rightly attributed to the one responsible... which is Satan... not God.

And man, who often times follows his own inclinations...

God loves the human race, however, he is also, a God of judgement, and when the time is right, and he determines, that judgement is necessary, he will not back down.

Okay, sure...

Cast your mind back to the events in Northern Ireland, 2001.

Little schoolgirls, some as young as the age of four, were abused on their way to the Holy Cross Catholic school.

A crowd of around 200 people, yelling verbal abuse, throwing stones and bottles at these poor girls. A lot of the children were so traumatised by the abuse they received, they almost immediately left the school from another exit.

This same event lead to more violent conflict, petrol bombs, and gunfire from both sides, Catholic and Protestant. All because each group was convinced the other religion was wrong. Because they were acting out for God.

It's this sort of behaviour, associated with religion, often said to be done in the name of it, which makes me refuse to take that road. If absolute faith makes people kill and hurt others in the name of God, then I absolutely reject it.

Besides, what are the criteria for defining what is the work of the Devil? Remember, no religion marched into battle thinking God wasn't on their side.

Absolute DENIAL of responsibility... *sigh*

If Satan is responsible, then HE should be held accountable. But no, somehow, he does all the dirty work, but WE will be judged for it. That makes your version of God seem... stupid. So you're interpretation must be wrong.

And why do all the LLCs keep forgetting to input 'free-will' into the equation?

Good point, I never looked at it that way.

I know some Christians believe that we are simply condemned since the day we are born, perhaps that's why. It's rumored that some where in the bible it says that too.
