I don't think advisors change titles. I don't anyway. I think it is the job of the 'editor' to do that. They change it to show more of what the thread is about, and it has to do with search engines and stuff.
I've had my titles changed before too.
Yeah, we do change titles from time to time. Some of the reasons we change them:
1. They have a nasty word in the question (ie: something your grandmother would be shocked to hear)
2. The question isn't really a question
3. The question is given a one word title
An example: If you typed 'Pets' as the title for your question 'How can I get a new pet?', we would change the title to 'How do I get a new pet?'- this is so the title lets other members know what the question is, at a first glance.
Thanks for the answers!
Whomever (whoever?) changed the title, did it again, and it makes more sense now, thanks!
The biggest deal is ...user experience.
Our most popular page is the home page, which lists most of our recent questions. If all the titles were one word (and it happens) then nobody would have any idea what the question was

Do advisors change titles?
I was just wondering, do advisors change titles of questions?
(And I understand what they were trying to say, but it's been changed to something that doesnt really make sense, can I change it again?)
