Did I do the right thing in getting my tubes tied at a young age?

I'm 26 years old and I got my tubes tied in august and I've had a lot of people look at me strange after I've told them that I no longer want to have kids. I already have 1 and she is seven now. I don't think I was wrong. I just want to raise her and be able to travel and have time time to myself after she has grown up. they feel that one chils is just not enough. What do you think?

I'm completely done - didn't get tubes tied / the male equivelant - and I'm only 28, I have kids, but I got the procedure done when I was 26 as well. So if your life is progressing the way you want, then don't worry about what other people think. Do things on the schedule that makes sense to you, and try to keep a perspective on 'commentary' from other folks...(ironically, that would include the advice here ).

I'm currently pondering the decision to get my tubes tied. I'm 25 and have a 5yo. I've had a lot of negative feedback regarding such a permanent procedure with only having one child; but my take on this is no one will have to raise my children or put them through college but me and I don't want to spend my life being a mother; when I can be on vacations and such. I say more people should get their tubes tied and more people should focus on adopting a less fortunate child.

my cousin is the same age and has 2 boys, last february she had her second through c-section and while they were at it she had her tubes tied, when she is pregnant, it is almost as if she is allergic to pregnancy, she gets terribly sick, gets major ear infections, is always sore, she just didnt want to go through that again, but now, 1 year later, she kind of regrets it because she wants more children, but if you are done having children, then I think you made the right choice, you can always adopt!

Hi, my name is Chawmia and I feel you on the reason you tied your tubes because if you do not want anymore kids and you are serious about it then go ahead and get your tubes tied.I am 23 and trying to find a docter right now that would tie my tubes.
